How to Impress in an Interview

The job market is hot and there’s lots of competition! If you want to set yourself apart and impress in an Interview… follow these 5 tips!

First, know more than expected. Do a little bit of extra research on the company or the interviewers, so you can impress them with your preparedness and knowledge! Second, be a little early. A little, not a lot! You definitely don’t want to be late, but you also don’t want to be so early that you come across as disregarding your interviewer’s schedule.

My next tip may take some practice, but you want to communicate your answers with clarity, as concisely as you can, and with confidence. Make them believe you know what you’re talking about and can hit the ground running. Fourth, ask thoughtful questions. This helps to demonstrate you are engaged and interested. Lastly, follow up! Follow up after every single interview. Thank them for their time, let them know you want the job, and ask about next steps.
